It has become a common trend that AEW Dynamite has defeated NXT in the overall Wednesday Night War ratings. There has only been a couple of occasions where NXT has had more average viewers. Even when NXT has had the higher ratings, AEW almost always defeats WWE in the all important 18-49 demographic.
This week’s episode of AEW however, done something that no other episode has done. This week their key demographic number defeats both WWE main roster shows Monday night Raw and SmackDown.
Dave Meltzer took to Twitter to not that for the first time ever AEW won the 18-49 demographic overall which beat the July 20th episode of Raw and July 17th episode of Smackdown.
This is the first week in history where AEW has won a key (as in 18-49) demo overall, beating both Raw & SD in the same week in women 18-34, and that's a show with competition vs. two shows with long histories and no wrestling competition.

Since Dave Meltzer sent out this Tweet, the numbers for this week’s SmackDown were released and AEW once again beat WWE to become true ‘Demo Gods’.
Considering All Elite Wrestling has only been running for just over a year, this is a pretty impressive win for Tony Khan’s promotion. On a Wednesday evening fans need to choose between watching AEW or NXT live, Raw and SmackDown have no competition to compete for viewers.
