It has been widely reported that Becky Lynch vacated the Raw Women’s Championship on last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw. She announced that she was pregnant and that she was having to give up the title that she has held for over a year now.
Asuka won the Women’s Ladder Match the previous night at Money in the Bank. Lynch revealed that Asuka was now in fact Raw Women’s Champion. This is the first time that Asuka has held this title and in doing so made history.
In becoming the new Raw Woman’s Champion, Asuka has become the first woman to win the following accolades:
- Raw Women’s Championship
- SmackDown Women’s Champion
- NXT Women’s Championship
- Women’s Tag Team Championship
- Money in the Bank
- Royal Rumble
The closest competitor to meet this record is Bayley who only needs to win the royal Rumble to Equal the Japanese Star. It should be noted that neither women have won the NXT UK Title but it would be extremely unlikely that they would ever do so.
Congratulations have been posted all day for Becky and Seth, but surely a mention needs to go out to Asuka. Hopefully, she will provide us with some exciting defending matches. Her first feud is to be determined.
