On Wednesday, after a group call with Vince McMahon, more than 20 WWE superstars were released from the company. Including well loved on screen talent such as Rusev, Zack Ryder, Drake Maverick, and Curt Hawkins.

We then announced that further released would be announced, not in RAW or Smackdown but in the Black and Gold brand. And that is what is breaking at the moment.

The biggest name so far is Taynara Conti. Conti had competed in the 2018 Mae Young Classic before continuing to appear on NXT.

Other names to be released include Nick Ogarelli and Tino Sabatelli

Ogarelli was signed to WWE in February 2019 but never made it to television. He had previously been trained at the Monster Factory in New Jersey prior to signing with WWE. Sabatelli was an NFL player prior to signing a WWE contract and reporting to NXT in 2014. He and partner Riddick Moss appeared on numerous episodes of NXT but Sabatelli was frequently injured. Sabatelli was also a featured cast member of WWE Breaking Ground.

Also releases today are Cezar Bononi and Mars Wang have also been released.

Dave Meltzer has reported that more WWE releases are likely still on the way and they will join names such as previously announce releases of Deonna Purrazzo, MJ Jenkins, Aleksandr, and Dan Matha.

As we have said already, these are tough times and our thoughts really do go out to those who have lost their jobs in the last week.

As usual we will try to keep you as informed as we can.
