Clash of Champions Odds and Predictions

It’s that time of month again where WWE put on another Pay Per View with a theme and this time it’s all the Championships will be on the line (and Roman vs Rowan). How many Championships will change hands? Will any? Here are our predictions with the current betting odds.

Cruiserweight Championship – Drew Gulak vs Lince Dorado Humberto Carrillo

With the announcement that the hit WWE Network show 205 Live will be cancelled this has threw this match speculation up into the air. The Cruiserweight Division will be absorbed onto the NXT Brand along with the Cruiserweight Championship where it will be a mid-card championship being competed for on NXT Takeover Pre-Shows instead of PPV Preshows. So the question is who do you want to be champion going into this new era? The current champion or someone new? We predict that by possibly screwy means that Gulak will retain the title taking it into the new NXT era. Gulak to win 8/13

Women’s Tag Team Championship – Bliss and Cross vs Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville

Here we have what will most likely be the other match on the Kick-Off Show between Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross against Fire and Desire. On the go home show for Clash of Champions we saw Nikki Cross get the better of Mandy Rose after Rose mocked her for her appearance. Logic would dictate whoever loses on the go home show would win at the PPV and we think this will happen again as somehow Fire and Desire are the longest running Women’s Tag Team on the current roster at the moment and there is the heavily rumoured LGBT angle Vince has wanted to run with Sonya so we could see it start after Fire and Desire win the Championships. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville to win 5/2

Raw Tag Team Championship – Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman vs RooDolph

This time a year ago Raws tag team division couldn’t hold a candle to Smackdowns. After the Superstar Shakeup in April seeing teams like the Usos heading to Raw with a returning Revival, debuting War Raiders and AOP in the mix. Now we have Seth and Braun (who aren’t a tag team) defending their titles against Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler (who have been a team for less time than Seth and Braun). Logic would dictate that RooDolph will win the titles so that Seth isn’t a double champion anymore but we think this is where one of the nights swerves will be seeing the champions retain that will factor into the main event. Seth and Braun to win 2/1

Smackdown Tag Team Championship – New Day vs Revival

The Brand Split has gone reasonably well up until the Wildcard Rule was introduced. We have seen Raw Superstars Samoa Joe and Dolph Ziggler compete for the WWE world title, Alexa Bliss compete for the Smackdown Women’s Title and now we are seeing The Revival compete for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship. Since the Smackdown Championship should in our opinion be held by a Smackdown team so we predict the New Day will retain over The Revival which could play into the story with Kofi and Randy later in the night. New Day to win 8/15

Intercontinental Championship – Shinsuke Nakamura vs The Miz

Another brilliant example of Raw Superstars going for Smackdown Titles because Vince McMahon is a genius Dammit! Sees The Miz jump from Raw to challenge The Artist, The Rockstar, Shinsuke Nakamura. You would expect The Miz would win the belt so he could tie Chris Jericho as the most overall IC reigns in history and we’d be all for this if Nakamura didn’t have this new alliance with Sami Zayn. Zayn could be the difference maker in the match and we could see this cause Nakamura retain. It all comes down to how much of a dick Vince McMahon wants to be. We hope he won’t take Jericho’s record just because he went to AEW and also destroy Zayn and Nakamura before we’ve even seen what they can do with the belt so we’re predicting another retention. Nakamura to win 4/7

US Championship – AJ Styles vs Cedric Alexander

Former janitor Cedric Alexander has managed to get himself a United States Championship match after being attacked by AJ and the OC. Paul Heyman is apparently a huge fan of Alexanders and this could see him put on a stellar performance but we feel it is a bit too soon to change the championship over. We predict the OC will either cause a distraction to allow AJ Styles to pick up the win or more likely Alexander will have the upper hand forcing The OC to attack him having Alexander win by DQ allowing Styles to retain the title. Cedric Alexander to win 2/1

Roman Reigns vs Erick Rowan

This match isn’t one you would have predicted a year ago in the sense that one, Roman was getting booed before going to battle Leukaemia and two, Erick Rowan was just……. Erick Rowan. The Daniel Bryan aspect of this match alongside the fact it’s No Disqualification could play into the finish makes it tough to call but we think Bryan will distract Rowan to allow Roman to overcome the odds to win the match. Roman Reigns to win 4/11

Smackdown Women’s Championship – Bayley vs Charlotte Flair

The first of our 4 horsewomen match will most likely be the Smackdown Women’s Championship match. We believe the two stories will be intertwined for a bit longer and in order for that to happen we think Bayley will most likely pick up a heel win over Charlotte whether it be from a distraction from Sasha Banks or using a chair. We think it’s more likely to be the Sasha distraction so that Bayley will keep her title teasing the Boss n Hug Connection being dominant heading into the Raw Women’s Championship match. Bayley to win 8/11

Raw Women’s Championship – Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks

And now the other half of the coin. This will be Sasha’s first PPV match since losing the Women’s Tag Titles at Wrestlemania. We think this match will initially start off similarly to the Smackdown Women’s Championship match with Bayley causing distractions putting Lynch on the back foot. However due to Banks and Bayley’s heelishness during the Bayley’s match we think Charlotte will run out with a chair chasing off Bayley allowing Becky to pick up the win. This will hopefully lead to a Hell in the Cell tag team match for all the belts. Becky Lynch to win 4/5

WWE Championship – Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton

We thought SummerSlam would be a one and done for Kofi vs Randy but the story has progressed better than we thought even though the double countout was a rubbish way to end the match. Earlier we predicted the New Day would retain their titles and it could play into this match. Kofi could be about to win the match when the titantron cuts to backstage where the Revival are attacking the New Day causing Kofi to get distracted for a second allowing Orton to hit the RKO…..1….2….kick out. Kofi will go on to win the match and check on the New Day after but the New Day feel like Kofi has forgotten about them moving forward. Kofi Kingston to win 4/6

Universal Championship – Seth Rollins vs Braun Strowman

Still (hopefully) Raw Tag Team Champions Seth and Braun will compete for the Universal Championship. We are predicting this one with longer booking in mind. We think the match will go similarly to how Rollins vs Lesnar went in terms of action and we still think that Rollins will retain over Strowman but after the match both men are attacked by the Fiend setting up a match at Hell in a Cell between Rollins and the Fiend with Wyatt trying to re-recruit Strowman back into the fold. The build being Rollins has been a KingSlayer, BeastSlayer, MonsterSlayer, but can he Slay the Fiend? Seth Rollins to win 1/5

24/7 Championship – Current Champion R-Truth

It’s Clash of Champions and there is one title that could still appear throughout the night. While there are no betting odds we’re just going to take a shot in the dark about who could leave the PPV as the 24/7 Champion. We think it’ll be someone who’s never been it before, we think it could be Rene, Drake Mavericks wife, which could see the story develop further on Raw of Drake trying to casually pin his wife to get the title in amusing ways.

So those are our Odds and Predictions for Clash of Champions. Do you agree with them? Will I finally get the US title match right? Will the Fiend make an appearance? And who do you think should be 24/7 Champion? Let us know in the comments what your predictions are. As always I’ve been MostlyGary and remember to gamble responsibly.
