Recently crowned as the first AEW TNT Champion, Cody has revealed that his open challenge for the title is not exclusive to talent currently under contract with All Elite Wrestling.
In a Twitter Question and Answer session, a fan asked Cody if non AEW talent were able to answer his open challenge. He simply responded “Yes”

Cody defeated Lance Archer in the final of the TNT championship tournament at Double or Nothing. The win came as a bit of surprise to fans considering Archer had been undefeated up until this point. On this week’s episode of Dynamite, Cody is set to defend his title for the first time against Jungle Boy who won the privilege on last weeks episode by winning the Battle Royal.
During last week’s show Cody stated that he would defend his title every week in an open challenge. The fact that this is not strictly reserved for AEW talent could make some exciting and interesting match ups.
We recently reported that former WWE star and Cody’s close friend Matt Cordana (FKA Zack Ryder) took to twitter to show his interest in challenging for the belt. This is possibly one of the more likely of outside talent that could come to AEW. The luxury of one-off matches without having to sign for the promotion full time will be intriguing for wrestlers out there.
Who would you like to see challenge Cody?
