WWE’s next pay-per-view, BackLash, is due to air Sunday June 14th. We now have information on whether the event will be taped in advance or shown live.
Fightful Select has reported that BackLash will be taped prior to the event like WrestleMania and parts of Money in The Bank were. They gave further information stating that the event will be recorded at the WWE Performance Centre today.
The Performance Centre Trainees will make up the crowd for the event and will be called into the Centre today for recording.
At this moment, we have not received any confirmation as to whether any of the matches will be filmed cinematically like WrestleMania’s Boneyard and Firefly Funhouse Matches or both the Women’s and Men’s Ladder match at Money in the Bank.
WWE are advertising the upcoming match between Edge and Randy Orton as ‘The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever’, maybe this should be filmed cinematically. If WWE want this to be as successful as they predict then it needs a bit of assistance, Edge has not competed in a straight up wrestling match in over nine years.
Once the taping for BackLash is completed today, the trainees will then be taken to be in the crowd for tonight’s NXT TakeOver: In Your House at Full Sail University. Tonight’s NXT event will be aired live with the exception of Adam Cole and Velveteen Dream’s Back-lot Brawl.
The Card for upcoming Backlash pay-per-view is as follows:
- Edge Vs Randy Orton
- Drew McIntyre (c) Vs Bobby Lashley
- Braun Strowman (c) Vs The Miz & John Morrison
- Asuka (c) Vs Nia Jax
- Jeff Hardy Vs Sheamus
