We are soon heading back into Wrestlemania season and for at least the past two years the winners of the Royal Rumble matches have been fairly predictable by this time but this year at the moment there is a few wrestlers who could win both matches. We have took into consideration the current champions and have decided on 5 wrestlers who could win the 2020 Royal Rumble.
If he’s in it, he’s going to win it. But he won’t be in it, so he won’t win it.
5. Sasha Banks
Sasha Banks has been pals with Bayley for a while now and has been dropping very subtle hints that she wants the championship again. We feel that one way should accomplish this would be to win the Royal Rumble and turn on Bayley to give the Smackdown Women’s Roster more competition for the Women’s Championship given at the moment there’s not much real competition at the top of the brand.
5. Finn Balor
Finn Balor was the iron man in his only rumble appearance to date and we believe he could win the whole thing. This greatly depends on Balor rebuilding himself back to where he was when he first left NXT and he seems to be doing a good job of it just now. Imagine the Wrestlemania main event of The Fiend Bray Wyatt Vs The Demon Finn Balor, you genuinely don’t know who would win that match given how both characters have been protected (unless a sledgehammer or Samoa Joe get involved).
4. Nia Jax
Last year Nia Jax made history by being the first person to compete in two separate rumbles on the same night and coming 3rd in the women’s one. She has since been out and had a double knee surgery shortly after Wrestlemania. Could she return and win the Royal Rumble to once again break Becky’s face? If Vince wants it to happen it’ll happen dammit!
4. Drew McIntyre
Drew was hand picked by Vince McMahon to be a future WWE Champion and we’re still waiting. He even went away and reinvented himself into the Scottish Psychopath. He’s got the size, the look and the believability to carry the brand. Will this be his year? This could see Drew take down Brock Lesnar and could push him to the mega stardom where he belongs.
3. Ronda Rousey
Ronda has not been seen on WWE TV since Wrestlemania where she lost the title to Becky Lynch after a seemingly unintentional screwy finish. Ronda has a rightful claim for a rematch given her shoulder was up when she was pinned but since automatic rematches were scrapped she’d have to earn it another way. She could return at the rumble and set up a one on one rematch with Becky Lynch one year later.
3. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens beat The Best Wrestler in the World! Shane McMahon so after that win the Royal Rumble should be a cakewalk. Since Seth Rollins started using Twitter he quickly fell from being the top babyface in WWE meaning that Kevin Owens looks primed to take that spot and what better way to do that than by doing the same thing that made Rollins the top face? Win the Rumble and beat Brock for the title.
2. Charlotte Flair
Its inevitable that Charlotte Flair will win the Royal Rumble match, but will it be this year? It’s hard to say. People eventually grew tired of seeing only her in the title picture which gave Becky Lynch the opportunity to blow up like she did. It’s rumoured Becky and Charlotte will face the Kabuki Warriors for the Tag Titles at TLC which could see the interesting dynamic of a tag champion winning the rumble to face their own partner at Wrestlemania. At least it’s something we haven’t seen already.
2. Roman Reigns
Just when the crowd stop booing Roman and accept him as a face because he’s not going after the world title anymore we hear rumblings that Vince wants Roman to win the rumble to face Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania. This could damage Romans redemption irreparably but as we approach the rumble it’s hard to see many others that could win the rumble, except of course our number one pick.
1. Shayna Baszler
Shayna is over with the fans as well as Vince if reports are to be believed. Shayna has dominated the NXT division for well over a year now and could be set for the jump to either Raw or Smackdown and why not do it by making history by having an NXT superstar win the rumble. Rhea Ripley seems poised to take the title from Shayna soon and imagine the programme between Becky Lynch and Shayna Baszler, arguably the top two women across all divisions.
1. King Corbin
Before you click off this article hear us out. We all joked that he would win the Andre the Giant Battle Royale, then he did. We all joked when we thought he would win the Money in the Bank Briefcase until he did. We all thought there was no way he’d be King of the Ring, and then he was. Now will he win the Royal Rumble this year? Definitely not, see below for the real number one 😂
Real 1. AJ Styles
At last we come to our real no.1 pick to win the mens Royal Rumble. AJ has just recently lost his United States Championship and will most likely have a match with Randy Orton at TLC. But what will he do after that? We believe he will win the rumble, possibly with the help of the O.C. to go on to beat Brock Lesnar for the title. AJ Styles has always been in a WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble since his debut and he has given us arguably the best wrestling match with Brock Lesnar out of all Brock’s matches so we can see now being the title for Styles to win the rumble.
And those are our early thoughts on who the Royal Rumble winners could be. Do you agree with our picks? Who else would you add to this list. Will King Corbin be the first one thrown out? Hopefully. Let us know in the comments who you think will be the Royal Rumble winner.
