Here we take a look back at every wrestler to become a Grand Slam Champion. The rules of the Grand Slam Champion have varied across the years with different titles being available throughout different points in history but the general rule has been each wrestler must have held at least a World Championship i.e. WWE or World Heavyweight, the secondary title of the Intercontinental, a tertiary championship such as the European or Hardcore title as well as either tag team title. The rules changed in 2015 to the current ruleset so that a Wrestler must hold a World Championship, Tag Team Championship and both Intercontinental and US Championship. There is one exception to our list that will be explained later on.

Shawn Michaels

Mr Wrestlemania himself has the honour of being the first ever WWE Grand Slam Champion. He began this quest by first capturing the Intercontinental Championship from The British Bulldog in November 1992 on an episode of Saturday Nights Main Event. He would go on to form a tag team with Diesel to capture his first Tag Team Championship from the Headshrinkers on the August 28th 1994 house show just before SummerSlam. The WWF World Heavyweight Championship was next on HBK’s list as he defeated Bret Hart in an Ironman Match (that went into overtime) at the Wrestlemania XII in 1996 to pick up his first World Championship. Shawn Michaels would win many championships throughout his career but the last he needed to be a Grand Slam Champion was the European Championship which he would win by defeating The British Bulldog AT WWF One Night Only in England in 1997. Shawn Michaels would retire after losing Career vs Streak match with The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 26. He would stay retired with while appearing every so often and being the occasional special guest referee before returning to the ring in 2018 to reform DX to take on the Brothers of Destruction at Crown Jewel in a winning effort. Shawn has since gone back into retirement.

Fun Fact: Shawn Michaels once lost a tag match against Vince and Shane McMahon. His partner? God.

Triple H

Not far behind Shawn Michaels is his best friend in the world The Game, The Cerebral Assassin, The King of Kings, Triple H. Much like HBK, HHH had his first step towards becoming a Grand Slam champion by also winning the IC belt from Marc Mero on October 21st in 1996. However The Game would set his sights on the European Championship next beating Owen Hart at Wrestlemania XIV with Chyna at ringside in 1997. It didn’t take Triple H too long to work his way up the card as within 2 years he would win the WWF Championship from Mankind on the Raw following SummerSlam 1999. An Alliance with Stone Cold Steve Austin saw the Two Man Power Trip pick up the WWF Tag Team Championship by defeating The Brothers of Destruction at Backlash 2001 seeing the King of Kings become the second Grand Slam Champion in WWE History. Triple H currently is an authority figure on WWE television and runs NXT brand.

Fun Fact: Triple H has had many on screen relationships such as Stephanie McMahon and Katie Vick.

The Big Red Monster may be a shock to some to be the third person to receive this honour but he only missed out on being second by a mere 21 days. Kane won the WWF championship from Stone Cold Steve Austin at King of the Ring in 1998 but would only hold onto the belt for a single day. Seemingly having accomplished his goal of being WWF Champion (a single day still counts dammit!) he aligned with Mankind to capture the WWF Tag Team Championship a less than a month later from Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker at Raw on July 13th 1998 holding the titles for 2 weeks. Kane would go on to win many tag titles with many different partners (see if you can remember them all) and a couple more world title reigns but his next step towards the Grand Slam Championship was when he defeated Raven and Big Show in a Triple Threat Match at Wrestlemania X7 to claim the Hardcore Championship. And much like the time gap from his previous two title wins Kane would go on to capture the IC title from Triple H at Judgement Day 2001 a month later solidifying himself as the third Grand Slam Champion. Kane currently is the Mayor of Knoxville County, yeah, the guy in the picture above is a Mayor. To be fair, would you vote against him?

Fun Fact: Kane once electrocuted Shane McMahons testicles and set fire on Jim Ross.

Chris Jericho

The first man on our list to win all 7 belts under the original ruleset to become Grand Slam Champion (a Grandest Slam?) Jericho began his journey towards his first Grand Slam win by winning the Intercontinental Championship by defeating Chyna at Armageddon in 1999. This would be the first of his record 9 Intercontinental Championship wins. Jericho would go on to defeat Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle in a Triple Threat Match at Wrestlemania 2000 to become European Champion. Chris Jericho then went on to team with Chris Benoit to capture the WWF Tag Team Championships from The Two Man Power Trip on Raw after winning a number 1 contender Tag Team Turmoil match at Judgement Day 2001. Chris Jericho would become the first Undisputed Champion in WWF by defeating both Stone Cold Steve Austin (for the WWF Championship) and The Rock (for the World Heavyweight Championship) in the same night at Vengeance 2001 to become the 4th Grand Slam Champion in WWE History. He would go on to win the Unified Tag Team Titles with Edge in 2009 which would see Edge relinquishing the title to the Big Show due to injury creating the team of Jeri-Show. These titles would undergo changes through the years but are currently the Raw Tag Team Titles. And Jericho would become a 2 time Grand Slam Champ by defeating Roman Reigns for the United States Championship on Raw January 9th 2017. Chris Jericho is currently All In as a full time member of AEW and was their first ever AEW Champion.

Fun Fact: Chris Jericho has successfully gotten 2 separate list gimmicks over with the crowd.

Kurt Angle

The first of 4 of the Smackdown Six from 2002 to make this list. Kurt Angle won a Gold Medal at the Olympics with a broken freaking neck so with his neck repaired it was only a matter of time before The Wrestling Machine would claim WWE gold. His first title won in WWF was the European title in 2000. He defeated Val Venis on the February 8th 2000 edition of Smackdown to claim this Championship and it took Angle less than a month to pick up the Intercontinental Championship from Chris Jericho at No Way Out 2000 to hold both belts simultaneously. He would end up dropping both at Wrestlemania 2000. Kurt’s first World Championship happened later the same year when he defeated The Rock at No Mercy 2000 after interference from Rikishi. Kurt would not pick up his first Tag Team Championship as quickly as his other wins. He and Chris Benoit (One of Two from the Smackdown 6 not to make this list) would defeat Edge and Rey Mysterio at No Mercy 2002 to become the inaugural WWE Tag Team Champions and with this Angle would become the 5th Grand Slam Champion in WWE history. Kurt Angle is currently an ambassador for WWE after returning in 2017, being general manager of Raw, a member of The Shield and teaming with Ronda Rousey at Wrestlemania.

Fun Fact: Kurt Angle retired from the ring at Wrestlemania 35 losing his final match to Baron Corbin.

Eddie Guerrero

One of only 5 men to win one belt from each category to become a Grand Slam Champ and the second of the Smackdown Six to be on this list. Eddie won his first Championship in WWF after jumping from WCW on 2000 as he won the European Championship from Chris Jericho on the Raw after Wrestlemania 2000. In less than a year Guerrero would win the Intercontinental Championship from Chyna and Kurt Angle in a Triple Threat match on the September 4th 2000 edition of Raw. As a part of Los Guerreros, Eddie and Chavo (the second of the Smackdown Six not to feature on this list) defeated Edge and Rey Mysterio and Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle in a Triple Threat Tag Team Elimination match at Survivor Series 2002. Guerrero would win the big one at No Way Out in 2004 by defeating the now Beast in the Bank Brock Lesnar with a little assistance from Goldberg to become the WWE Champion for the first and sadly only time in his career before passing away in 2005.

Fun Fact: Eddie Guerrero once lost custody of Dominic in a Ladder Match to Rey Mysterio.

The second of 5 to only win only belt from each category needed to become a Grand Slam Champion and third of the Smackdown Six to make it is Edge. His journey to win the Grand Slam by first picking up the Intercontinental Championship on a house show on July 24th 1999 by defeating Jeff Jarrett but he would drop the title back to Jarrett the following night at Fully Loaded 1999. He would go on the win the US Championship from Kurt Angle on the November 12th 2001 edition of Raw. Edge would team with Rey Mysterio to successfully claim the WWE Tag Team Championships on the November 5th 2002 edition of Smackdown by defeating Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit in a 2 out of 3 falls match. Edge would be the first man in history to make a surprise cash in by picking his moment after John Cena had defended his WWE Championship inside an Elimination Chamber match at New Year’s Revolution in 2006. This would be the first of many World Titles Edge would win before neck injuries caused him to retire in 2011 as the World Heavyweight Champion. However after beating incredible odds Edge returned at the 2020 Royal Rumble as an in ring competitor and is currently signed to Raw

Fun Fact: Edge once had a live sex celebration with Lita on Raw.

Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam is next on our list of Grand Slam Champions. It’s no surprise that the ECW original would take his first step to the Grand Slam Championship by winning the Hardcore Championship from Jeff Hardy at the Invasion PPV in 2001. RVD would fight for the Intercontinental titles numerous times over the years picking up his first Intercontinental Championship by defeating William Regal at Wrestlemania X-8. RVD would team with Kane in 2003 to pick up the World Tag Team Championships from Chief Morley and Lance Storm and the Dudley Boyz in a Triple Threat Tag Team Elimination Match in March 31st 2003 edition of Raw. Rob Van Dam had very few opportunities at the WWE Championship throughout his career but managed to create an opportunity for himself by winning the Money in the Bank Briefcase. He was the first man to announce his cash in ahead of time against John Cena at ECW One Night Stand 2006. RVD defeated Cena to become WWE Champion for the first and only time in his career but would only hold the belt for a short period after violating the wellness policy and having to drop the title. RVD would return to WWE in 2014 at Money in the Bank before leaving again in 2015. He is currently signed with Impact.

Fun Fact: RVD is a high flyer…… also he jumps off the top rope often.

Booker T

Booker T the 5 time, 5 time, 5 time, 5 time, 5 time WCW Heavyweight Champion is the next man to become a Grand Slam Champion. He won his first gold in the WWE with Test on the October 30th 2001 edition of Smackdown by winning the WWF World Tag Team Championships from The Rock and Chris Jericho. His next step to becoming a Grand Slam Champion came when he defeated Stevie Richards at Insurrextion 2002 in England to win the Hardcore Title. He would drop the title on the same night to Crash Holly before winning it back only to again on the same night lose the title to Stevie Richards. It would be over a year for Booker T to win the Intercontinental Title where he would beat Christian on the July 7th 2003 edition of Raw. His first World Heavyweight Championship win in WWE would come in 2006 after winning the King of The Ring where KING BOOKAH would go on to defeat Rey Mysterio at The Great American Bash in 2006 to become a 6 time, 6 time, 6 time, 6 time, 6 time, 6 time World Heavyweight Champion. After a stint with TNA Booker would return to WWE competition for a while before taking up a commentary position often stating his Fav 5 which would often include 20 people each week. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame by himself and again this year with his brother as a part of Harlem Heat. He is currently a presenter working on WWE PPV Preshows and other shows on the network.

Fun Fact: Booker T inadvertently taught Hulk Hogan his favourite word.

Jeff Hardy

The second man to win all 7 belts under the original ruleset to become a Grand Slam Champion. As expected being a member or Team Extreme during his debut Jeff would pick up his first title in WWF by winning the WWF World Tag Team Titles with his brother Matt by defeating The Acolytes at June 25th 1999 edition of Raw. Jeff and Matt would have memorable matches throughout their tag team career even to current day but both men would also have memorable solo careers. Jeff’s first title as a singles competitor came at April 3rd 2001 edition of Smackdown where he would win the Intercontinental Championship from Triple H. He would lose the title 6 days later back to Triple H. Hardy wouldn’t wait very long before taking his next step to the Grand Slam by taking the Hardcore Championship from Mike Awesome on the July 12th 2001 edition of Smackdown. Jeff would suffer injuries and have a stint in TNA before returning to WWE in 2005 where he would contend for IC and Tag Team Championships. It would take Jeff 3 years since his return before he would finally win the WWE Championship from Edge in a Triple Threat Match featuring Triple H at Armageddon 2008. Jeff would leave WWE in 2009 after losing to CM Punk in a loser leaves WWE match and would not return until Wrestlemania 33 where they would win the Raw Tag Team Championships. Jeff would also win the United States from Jinder Mahal on Raw April 16th 2018 to become the second Two Time Grand Slam Champion. Jeff is currently a member of the Smackdown roster.

Fun Fact: Jeff Hardy’s brother Matt once burned his house down killing his dog Jack. (Trust Vince to turn a real life tragedy into an angle, such good shit).

John Bradshaw Layfield is indeed a Grand Slam Champion. JBL at the time known as Bradshaw formed an alliance with Faarouq aka Ron Simmons known as the Acolytes. The Acolytes would go on to become the Acolyte Protection Agency or APA for short. The Acolytes would win their first Tag Team gold by defeating Kane and X-Pac on the May 25th 1999 edition of Raw. Bradshaw would win his first singles title on the October 22nd 2001 edition of Raw by claiming the European Championship from The Hurricane with his reign lasting 8 days before losing the title to Christian. Bradshaw would go on to be a member of Smackdown reinventing himself as the Texas Tycoon John Bradshaw Layfield. JBL would boast that he was a wrestling god after defeating Eddie Guerrero in a bull rope match for the WWE Championship at The Great American Bash in 2004. JBL would go on to complete his Grand Slam run by defeating CM Punk on the March 9th 2009 edition of Raw to win the Intercontinental Title. He would lose this title a month later at Wrestlemania losing to Rey Mysterio in 19 seconds. After this embarrassing defeat he would quit WWE. JBL would turn up sporadically after leaving in 2009 before taking up a commentary position which he held for many years before being phased out after the bullying allegations that had emerged. JBL still appears on pre shows for big pay per views such as Wrestlemania.

Fun Fact: JBL is a notorious prankster often having fun with people in the shower.

Christian is next on our list of Grand Slam Champions with many believing he would never reach the top of the WWE. Christian debuted in WWE alongside Edge in the late 90s and it would not be long before the fans realised the potential for Tag Team Wrestling. His first step to winning the Grand Slam was by winning the World Tag Team Championships with his “brother” Edge at Wrestlemania 2000 by defeating The Dudley Boyz and the Hardy Boyz. He would go onto win the Intercontinental Championship in 2001 by defeating his “brother” Edge at Unforgiven and one month later would win the European Championship on the October 28th 2001 edition of Smackdown by beating Bradshaw. Christian would leave WWE in 2005 having a run with TNA where he would become their world champion before returning to the WWE ECW brand in 2008. He showed he could be the top guy on a brand by holding the ECW Championship before he would eventually move to Smackdown aligning himself with Edge in the run up to Wrestlemania 27 in 2011. Edge would retire after Wrestlemania vacating the World Heavyweight Championship. Christian would go on to defeat Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules 2011 in a ladder match with a little assistance from Edge becoming the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career, long may he reign…. 5 days is long right? Christian would retire from in ring competition in 2014 after concussion issues. He starred in the Edge and Christian Show that Totally Reeks of Awesomeness on the WWE network as well as the E and C Pod of Awesomeness. He is not a Hall of Famer as of the writing.

Fun Fact: Vince McMahon once wanted to block out Christian’s face with a blue dot, because he thought he was too ugly.

Bonus: Christian was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame while under contract to WWE.

Big Show

The Big Show, The Giant, Paul Wight has been a champion numerous items throughout his career in WCW and WWE winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship on his first night there. He won his first title in WWE by defeating Triple H at Survivor Series in 1999. The Big Show would go on to become US champion in 2003 by beating Eddie Guerrero at No Mercy 2003 which he would hold until Wrestlemania 20 in 2004 where he would lose to John Cena for Cena first title win. He would win tag team championships with memorable partners such as Kane and the Undertaker but his first tag title run that qualified for the Grand Slam Championship was when he took the vacant title from the injured Edge to ally with Chris Jericho forming the team of Jerishow in 2009. The Big Show would have many banter matches at Wrestlemania featuring the likes of Akebono and Floyd Money Mayweather which he would more often than not lose. This was the premise Cody Rhodes put forward leading into Wrestlemania XXVIII in 2012 where they would clash for the Intercontinental Championship. Big Show would finally claim the Intercontinental Championship at this Wrestlemania to become a Grand Slam Champion. Big Show currently appears sporadically in WWE most recently competing in the main event of Wrestlemania 36 against Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship. He is the star of the Netflix show The Big Show Show.

Fun Fact: Big Show once rode his father’s casket like a sled.

The Miz

The Miz is one of the more unlikely Grand Slam Champions you’d expect to find on this list but here he is. The Miz’s first big success came when he teamed with John Morrison to defeat Matt Hardy and MVP on the November 13th 2007 edition of Smackdown to become WWE Tag Team Champions. This was while The Miz was on ECW meaning he could appear on Smackdown or ECW. The Miz would pick up his first singles title 2 years later by defeating Kofi Kingston on the October 5th edition of Raw to become the United States Champion. The Miz would go on to win the Money in the Bank contract in 2010 which he would hold onto for several months before cashing in on Randy Orton on an episode of Raw on November 22nd 2010 to win his first and only WWE Championship. The Miz captured his first Intercontinental title on Raw 1000 on July 23rd 2012 by defeating Christian. This is the title he would become most associated with mainly due to his runs with the belt from 2016-2018. The Miz is currently a member of the Smackdown roster and is a Tag Team Champion alongside John Morrison (Hey Hey Ho Ho).

Fun Fact: The Miz will never eat chicken in a locker room again thanks to friendly advice from his colleagues.

Daniel Bryan

The Planet’s Champion debuted on Raw as part of the Nexus before being released the same day after choking Justin Roberts with his tie during a Nexus Invasion angle. After returning to help Team WWE defeat the Nexus at SummerSlam Bryan set his sights on his former NXT mentor The Miz to claim his first US Championship at Night of Champions in 2010. 2 years later Daniel Bryan would form an alliance with Kane over anger management issues and as Team Hell No would go on to defeat Kofi Kingston and R-Truth to win the WWE Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions in 2012 (Bryan seems to do well with monster tag team partners). Daniel Bryans fan support would become undeniable WWE would have to give Daniel Bryan an opportunity at the WWE Title. This came in the form of John Cena choosing to face Daniel Bryan at Summerslam 2013 with Triple H as a special guest referee. Daniel Bryan would defeat Cena debuting his new finisher of the running knee but the celebration would be cut short after a pedigree from Triple H to allow Randy Orton to cash in his Money in the Bank Briefcase to take the title immediately off Bryan. Bryan would take some time off in 2014 after suffering injuries but would return in time for Wrestlemania season. Unfortunately for Bryan, Roman Reigns was the man being pushed to the moon at that point ruling out a possible World title match. With little else in the cards for him Bryan would be a part of the Intercontinental Title Ladder match at Wrestlemania 31 featuring Bad News Barrett, Luke Harper, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth and Stardust where he become an Intercontinental Champ for the first time completing his Grand Slam Championship journey. Daniel Bryan would return to the ring in 2018 and after some difficulty finding his place on the card turned heel against AJ Styles to win the WWE Championship. He would hold this belt (after giving it a Vegan redesign) until Wrestlemania 35 where he would lose it to the champion Kofi Kingston. He is currently aligned with Drew Gulak and is the Intercontinental Champion on Smackdown

Fun Fact: Daniel Bryan’s first match in WWE was against John Cena in 2003, he lost.

Dean Ambrose

The third man to win one belt from each category having not won the Universal or Smackdown Tag Team Championship before departing WWE for AEW. The first member of the Shield to become a Grand Slam Champion which has left us fairly surprised. All members of the Shield picked up their first gold at Extreme Rules in 2013 with Dean Ambrose winning the US title from Kofi Kingston. He would hold this belt for almost a year (while rarely defending it) before dropping it in a battle royal to Sheamus. Ambrose would move further up the card after the Shield broke up with a World Title feud with Seth Rollins in which he would not claim the belt. However in 2015 Ambrose would defeat Kevin Owens at TLC to become an Intercontinental Champion. Ambrose would eventually win the WWE Championship after cashing in his newly won Money in the Bank Contract on the same night to take the title from Seth Rollins in 2016 marking the night all 3 members of the Shield held the WWE Title on the same night. Ambrose would hold the title for some time before dropping it to AJ Styles at TLC in 2016 but after some time off from injury in 2017-2018 Ambrose would join Seth Rollins to win the Raw Tag Team Championship from The Bar at SummerSlam in 2017 to become the first Grand Slam Champion of the Shield. Dean Ambrose know known as Jon Moxley is currently signed to AEW and is the current AEW World Champion.

Fun Fact: Ambrose has entered more Royal Rumble matches as a Champion than a non-Champion. US Champ in 2014, IC Champ in 2016 and 2017, no champ in 2015, 2019, injured for 2018.

Roman Reigns

It’s a surprise to us that the Big Dog was not the first member of the shield to win a World Title and not the first to become a Grand Slam Champion. Like Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins would win their first gold at Extreme Rules in 2013 defeating Team Hell No to become the WWE Tag Team Champions. Romans next title win was at Survivor Series in 2015 after defeating Dean Ambrose to win the vacant WWE Championship after Seth Rollins injured his knee at a house show. His first title reign with the World Championship would last for around 5 and a half minutes before being cashed in on by Sheamus. Roman would then win the United States Championship from Rusev at Clash of Champions in 2016 to put him one step closer to becoming a Grand Slam Champion. It would take over a year for Reigns to win the Intercontinental Championship as he would defeat The Miz at the 25th Anniversary of Raw in November 2017. After returning from a bout with Leukaemia Roman Reigns has defeated Drew McIntyre at Wrestlemania and lost to Shane McMahon at Super Showdown. He is currently a member of the Smackdown roster.

Fun Fact: Roman Reigns has never done worse than the top 3 in a Royal Rumble Match.

Randy Orton

The fourth man to only win one belt from each category is Randy Orton. I thought he was a Grand Slam Champion long ago but he had not won either the European or Hardcore title to qualify for the original line up and has not won the Universal title. Despite having won the World Tag Team Championship (Raw tag belts from 2002-2010) with the titles being carried on into what we now know today as the Raw tag titles Orton has not won these belts. Orton joined Triple H, Batista and Ric Flair in 2002 to form the group Evolution. It was as part of this stable that Orton would pick up his first Intercontinental Championship from Rob Van Dam with Mick Foley as the special guest referee at Armageddon in 2003. Orton would remain a part of the faction until he made the mistake of winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Chris Benoit. Orton would not hold another world title until 2007 was awarded the WWE Championship that John Cena vacated due to injury on the October 7th 2007 edition Raw. The next step Orton would take to becoming a grand slam champion was also as part of a stable when the Wyatt Family took the Smackdown Tag Team Championship from Heath Slater and Rhyno at TLC in 2016. Orton would go on to beat Bobby Roode at Fastlane 2018 to win his first United States Championship which he would hold for less than a month before losing it in a fatal four way to…. Jinder Mahal. He is currently a member of the Raw roster and lost a feud with the returning Edge at Wrestlemania.

Fun Fact: Randy Orton has been a part of Evolution, Rated RKO, Legacy and the Wyatt Family.

Seth Rollins

We come to The Monday Night Messiah Seth Freakin’ Rollins. Seth would debut as part of The Shield and it wasn’t long before they would capture the Tag Titles from Team Hell No at Extreme Rules 2013. Rollins would go on to win Money in the Bank being the first and only man to cash in on the main event of Wrestlemania 31 in 2015 to win his first WWE Championship by beating Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in a triple threat match. While still holding his title won at Wrestlemania Rollins would go on to defeat John Cena in a Title vs Title match to claim his first US Championship at SummerSlam 2015 being the first man to hold the two belts simultaneously. Yeah Jon Stewart may have helped him but it’s not like Rollins never had help during his first WWE title run. However it wouldn’t be a great few months for Rollins afterwards as he lost his US title back to John Cena a month later and would have to relinquish his WWE Championship after an injury took him out for some time. Rollins has always won a match at Wrestlemania and last year’s mania was no exception as Seth would defeat Finn Balor and the Miz to pick up his first Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania 34 in 2018 becoming the final member of The Shield to become a Grand Slam Champion. He is the current a member of the Raw roster and leader of a faction including Murphy, Akam and Rezar.

Fun Fact: Seth Rollins is part of the 1 day WWE Champions club.

Kofi Kingston

It’s about damn time. Kofimania was red hot in February 2019. So Kofi was YOUR… W….W….E…WORLD….HEAVY……WEIGHT…….. CHAMPIOOONNN!!! But how did he start his journey towards the grand slam? Kofi (back when he was the Jamaican Sensation) defeated Chris Jericho at Night of Champions in 2008 to become an Intercontinental Champion. He lost the title in a mixed tag match with Mickie James to Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix in a winner take all stipulation Almost a year later he would fight to become United States Champion by defeating Montel Vontavious Porter on Raw June 1st 2009. Kofi is a well-known tag team champion with many different partners but do you remember who the first partner Kofi held the gold with was? It wasn’t The New Day, wasn’t R-Truth, wasn’t even CM Punk. Kofi teamed with Evan Bourne to form Air Boom in 2011 to defeat David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty for the WWE Tag Team Championship on the August 22nd 2011 edition of Raw. And we all know the 11 year story, the overnight success Kofi experienced culminated at Wrestlemania 35 as the Unicorn beat the Goat to become WWE Champion for the first time in his career. But as predicted he would lose the title and never get anywhere close to it again. He is currently back in his role as a member of the New Day on Smackdown.

Fun Fact: Kofi used to fake having a Jamaican accent before slipping up at Bragging Rights in 2009

Rey Mysterio

And the final member of the Smackdown Six and final man only to win one belt from each category having not won the Universal or Smackdown tag titles Mysterio is the final man to become Grand Slam Champion as of writing. His first step to becoming a Grand Slam Champ was in 2002 when he and Edge captured the WWE Tag Team Championship from Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit on the November 5th 2002 edition of Smackdown in a 2 out of 3 falls match. With a Royal Rumble win and a World Heavyweight title reign to keep him going Mysterio wouldn’t get closer to his Grand Slam status until he won the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania XXV by defeating JBL in 19 seconds!. He would go on to win the newly built WWE Championship (as CM Punk ran away with the former one after his contract expired at Money in the Bank) by beating the Miz on Raw in 2011 but losing the title to John Cena an hour later (which was bullshit). Mysterio finally became a Grand Slam champion by defeating Samoa Joe at Money in the Bank in 2019. Unfortunately much like his WWE Championship run he would not hold the belt for long as he was injured and vacated the title before being able to defend it. He is currently a member of the Raw roster.

Fun Fact: Rey Mysterio won custody of his son Dominic in a Ladder Match against Eddie Guerrero

Mysterio was the final man but what about the women? The only woman in WWE to be officially recognized as a Grand Slam Champion. Bayley’s first title win came at NXT Takeover: Respect in 2015 which saw her and Sasha banks compete in a 30 minute iron woman match. This back and forth match having Bayley win with seconds to spare showed the WWE Universe that women belonged in the main event of a PPV. Bayley would be the only of the NXT 4 Horsewomen to not be called up at the “beginning” of the women’s revolution as she would hone her craft on NXT against opponents like Nia Jax and Asuka. When Bayley came up to the main roster full time she set her eyes on the Women’s Championship (which would go on to be the Raw Women’s Championship). She ended Charlottes PPV undefeated streak to claim her first Raw Women’s Championship at Fastlane 2017. After feuds with Alexa Bliss that didn’t help anyone and minor feuds with Sasha Banks where she didn’t know whether or not to turn on her the Women’s Tag Team Championship was announced by…… Mr McMahonta Claus….. Makes sense. Bayley and Sasha would become the inaugural champions by outlasting 10 other women inside the Elimination Chamber in 2019 last eliminating Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. After dropping the belts to the IIconics at Wrestlemania Bayley was drafted to Smackdown where she would compete in the Money in the Bank Ladder match in 2019. She would win the match and be the second woman in history to cash in on the same night to beat Charlotte Flair to become Smackdown Women’s Champion for the first time. In doing so Bayley has become the only woman to hold the Raw, Smackdown, NXT and Women’s Tag Team Champion. We may see even more women become Grand Slam Champions in the Future but for now there is the one and only, Bayley. Bayley is currently a member of the Smackdown roster and is the Smackdown Women’s Champion.

Fun Fact: Bayley does not know how to use a Kendo Stick according to her feud with Alexa Bliss.
