On last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw, the first match was arranged for WWE’s upcoming pay-per view.
At Backlash, which is to be aired on Sunday June 14th, Edge and Randy Orton will once again go toe to toe, this time in a straight up wrestling match.
At WrestleMania last month the two legends went to battle. In the Last Man Standing match Edge won after a hard 35-minute fight.
On last week’s episode of Raw Orton laid out a challenge to edge. He wants a regular singles match at Backlash. Orton said that at WrestleMania the better man won, but the better wrestler did.
Edge declared that he has far more passion for the business than Orton does and ever has and emphatically accepted the challenge.
WWE has had the announcers dub the match a potential ‘greatest match ever’, and while that might be a little far-fetched, it’ll be interesting to see them go head-to-head in the ring in a technical match rather than a brawl like last time.
