At this year’s Saudi Arabia show back in February, Goldberg won the Universal Championship by defeating Bray Wyatt’s Fiend. Goldberg winning the title for the second time in this fashion was widely criticised by WWE fans.

Goldberg was then set to defend his Universal title agains Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Reigns had to pull out of the match due to Coronavirus Concerns. Goldberg instead took on Braun Strowman where the Monster Among Men walked away with the strap.

We have not seen Goldberg since ‘Mania and there has been no reports or rumours as to when we will see the WCW legend back in the ring.

So far, in 2020, Goldberg has already worked two matches meaning he has already met his quota for the year. In a recent interview with The Pop Culture Show the 53 year old discussed that his current deal with WWE sees him working two matches per year.

Speaking in the same interview, Goldberg confirmed that he has two more years remaining on his contract with the promotion, meaning we have at least two more matches to see from him in the future.

Here is what he had to say regarding his contract status:

“I am contracted with the WWE for the next two years through 2022, ’23. I’ve got two matches per year. I’ve exhausted my limit this year quite early on April the fifth with WrestleMania under these really weird circumstances. But I’ve got a couple other extremely interesting projects right on the cusp, but as you guys know in the entertainment business right now everything’s on hold unless it’s a production of 10 or under pretty much. We got a lot of cool things that people are going to find out about pretty soon. My WWE commitment is still going strong. At 53, I never would’ve imagined especially after making fun of Flair when he was doing it in his early 40s”.
