The official ratings for last night’s episodes of WWE NXT on USA Network and AEW Dynamite on TNT have been released.

For the July 22nd shows, in terms of overall viewers, AEW dominated for the second week in a row. They gained 845,000 viewers compared to NXT gaining 615,000.

Bryan Alvarez put out the following Tweet regarding the numbers:

AEW built on their viewer numbers of 788,000 for last week’s Fight for the Fallen, while NXT lost viewers from last week’s 631,000

In the all important demographic of 18-49, AEW smashed NXT by almost doubling their rating. AEW achieved 0.32 compared to WWE’s 0.17. both promotions increased their ratings from last week in the key demo. AEW was up from 0.29 and NXT increased from 0.14.

NXT tried to garner more viewers by hyping up a “huge announcement” which was revealed as Keith Lee relinquishing his North American Title to focus on his NXT Championship. This means that there will be a series of triple threat matches to crown a new winner. There were no stand out matches that would intrigue fans.

AEW Dynamite had Cody’s TNT Title defence in a no disqualification match against Eddie Kingston, we seen MJF in a match, a continuation of the feud between Brian Cage and Darby Allin and also a falls count anywhere tag match between the Young Bucks and Butcher and Blade
