Roman Reigns has not been seen on WWE for a long time now. He was supposed to challenge Goldberg at WrestleMania for the Universal Championship, but Reigns had to pull out of the pay per view. It was reported that he did so because of his immune system but it appears that was not the case.

Reigns gave an interview from his home to TMZ Sports to explain his side of the story regarding his absence from WWE.

He explained that the reason for his time off from wrestling is not so much to do with his compromised immune system which he said is much better after his battle with Leukaemia. Instead, Reigns is trying to protect his family and in particular his newly born twin sons.

“I’m doing good. A lot of people, you know, they think that it was based off of my health and the history of my fight against leukemia, but just talking to my doctors and stuff, I actually am fine, and my immune system is good. The drugs that I take in order to fight the leukemia, they don’t attack your immune system, but not everybody knew because I try to keep it private in this crazy world, but my children, you know, we just had two newborn twin boys, they’re eight weeks old, so I had to make a decision for them, and I love this business… if anybody ever questions if I love this business, go back about a year and a half ago.”

Reigns has been removed from WWE highlight packages and charity videos which indicates he could possibly be out for a considerable time. Reigns is being considerate of his family and making the correct choice. He said he is raring to get back to work but only when it does not compromise the safety of his family.
