After missing months of NXT action, Velveteen Dream made his return to the black and gold brand. Dream has not been seen for a few months since there were allegations made against him as part of the #Speaking out movement. Fans appear to be split in their reaction to him returning. One person who did not hide their feeling was his accuser who took to Twitter after he made his return.

Here is what Josh Fuller had to say about Velveteen Dream being shown on WWE. thanks to WrestlingNews.co:

“It’s a really sh*tty feeling that I feel like I can’t say the things I want to about everything because of fear over my wrestling career. That shouldn’t be okay

“In retrospect I’m glad I didn’t share things anonymously because it wouldn’t have had the same impact but the paranoia that comes with everything really f**kin sucks

“I’m doing okay though, I’m just really really mad that this sh*t’s just being tolerated and trying to be swept under the rug like it never happened

“The only things really pissing me off from social media are the people claiming that it was clearly investigated when there’s no proof or statement that ever was the case. Myself or anyone else involved weren’t contacted by anybody to my knowledge

“And also the people trying to make this like an AEW vs NXT thing look real dumb lmao miss me with that sh*t. Bad stuff is still bad, stop comparing situations to each other

“My morals come before wrestling and they always will. This is way bigger than me.

“ALSO anyone claiming I’m coming forward about things for clout, I don’t understand the logic behind that whatsoever. I have literally no personal gain and everything to lose by speaking up about things.

“I’m not sure if I’ll keep rambling about it but I just want to say above anything, I never chose to speak out because of myself. It was completely over the kids he sexually harassed and the fact that the internet tried to turn them into the bad people. Be sorry for them, not me.”

It appears that his accuser is not the only one unhappy that dream has made a return, there have been reports since Wednesday’s show that there is significant backstage heat regarding his return.

It is being reported by Fightful Select (subscription required) that the return of Velveteen Dream was kept as a secret. Many members of the NXT roster did not know that he would be returning to the show until just before it was being recorded. Apparently, the secret of his return is not the reason for the heat on Dream. The report states that there has been heat on him for a long time due to the fact he is favoured by WWE management and due to his behavioural problems.

Members of the WWE roster feel that if it was any other athlete who was attempting to make contact with an underage member of the public, or if they had sent illicit images they would have been fired.

WWE have still not made an official statement about the accusations against Velveteen ream, whereas they commented straight away regarding other athletes. WWE even took further action on others and released them from their contract.

When Dream returned on Wednesday night, he faced Kushida and Cameron Grimes for a spot in the North American Ladder match at Takeover. He was defeated and Grimes qualified for the final.
