Since Thursday we have seen an abundance of harassment and sexual assault allegations on social media as part of the #SpeakingOut movement. Several names from WWE, NWA and across the wrestling world have been accused by various women of serious allegations.
There seems to be disturbing story developing as numerous women in and out of the wrestling industry are using their platform to speak out about sexual assault and violence against women.
One of the allegations implicates Dave Lagana, the Vice President of NWA. He is being accused by a woman on Twitter by the name Liz Savage of sexual assault.
Independent wrestling promotions have cut ties with David Starr who has been accused of sexual assault, the Indie Star denies all allegations.
Jordan Devlin from WWE NXT also faces abuse allegations by a woman named Hanah Francesca on Twitter. She wrote:
“This is scary. I’m really scared. Jordan Devlin did this to me. And this is just the physical damage. Not including my arse and back bruises…. because I don’t fancy posting that online.”
She then posted pictures of bruises all over her body. The Tweets have since been removed.
WWE Issued the following statement regarding the situation:
“We take any allegation of this nature very seriously and are looking into the matter.”
Devlin is not the only WWE athlete to have accusations against him, Fellow NXT UK stars Joe Coffey, Travis Banks and Tyler Bate are also facing varying accusations.
All Across social media there are numerous allegations against wrestlers and wrestling staff the people mentioned in this report are only a small number of those facing claims.
