The Biggest Party of the Summer is here for the 32nd year in a row showing off a pretty diverse card of Wrestling. We have Championship matches, submission matchs, singles matches……. That’s it, no tag matches yet. The debut of The Fiend, The return of Trish Stratus and a championship match for an up and coming star in Randall Keith Orton, what more could you want? Here are the MostlyWrestling Odds and Predictions for SummerSlam 2019 and as always gamble responsibly as the card is always subject to change.

Cruiserweight Championship Drew Gulak vs Oney Lorcan

Starting off SummerSlam undoubtedly on the kick off show will be the Cruiserweight championship. Gulak has shown brilliant character growth from the presentations to the no fly zone to now being just a rough fighter. Lorcan has been making waves since moving over from NXT and won his chance at the Cruiserweight title from a 6 pack challenge on 205 Live. We think as much as we would eventually like to see Lorcan have a run with the belt that WWE don’t want to take the title off of Gulak just yet. Gulak to win 1/3

Smackdown Women’s Championship Bayley vs Ember Moon

Ember Moon is a future champion in the WWE with her unique character and in ring ability. She has been accepted by the crowd since her debut in NXT and could be a major player in the Women’s division despite being lost in the shuffle when she debuted on the main roster. Bayley however has had a revitalisation since winning the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank and we can see Bayley holding the title for a bit longer, potentially feuding with a returning Sasha Banks over the belt? Bayley to win 2/5

Charlotte Flair vs Trish Stratus

WOOOOOO, it’s time to rock and roll. It’s the match we were all excited to see that we thought would never happen. This could have headlined a second all women’s PPV but the match will take place in Toronto giving Trish the home field advantage. While neither women needs the win for their career we’d have to say that Charlotte could use the win to put herself back into the title picture (as much as we’d all love to see that) but remember that Trish hasn’t lost a match in over 10 years (that’s around 3-4 matches but still). Charlotte to win 1/3

US Championship AJ Styles vs Ricochet

One thing I have learned when making these predictions is I am very bad at predicting the US Championship match results. Mysterio, Joe, Ricochet and Styles have all let me down at one point or another but it stops here dammit! Ricochet has been beaten by The O.C. many times since they reformed with Ricochet never getting the win. He has proven he can beat the numbers by winning a gauntlet match on Raw to become Number 1 contender and we can see him reclaiming his championship. This in our heads would free AJ Styles up to pursue another championship (ideally the Universal Championship) which we could see culminate with The O.C. (all champs) vs The New Day (all champs) at Survivor Series. In order for that to happen we need to see Styles drop the US Championship so why not here by building Ricochet as a bigger star? Ricochet to win 6/5

Bray Wyatt vs Finn Balor

Bray Wyatt has almost singlehandedly saved my interest in the WWE for some time as there were times that it seemed as though there’d be little to nothing interesting left other than “ground-breaking first ever” events just for the sake of being “historic”. The Fiend attacking Mick Foley with the Mandible Claw was a stroke of genius and adds another layer to the character. It makes sense that Finn Balor would be his first opponent since returning and the fact it’s Finn Balor, the man (not to be confused with Becky Lynch) indicates that Wyatt will win. Rumours that Balor will be taking time off after this match as well could set up an eventual match between The Fiend and The Demon potentially at Survivor Series or even Wrestlemania. But the first round of this feud surely has to go to Wyatt. Bray Wyatt to win 1/14

Raw Women’s Championship Submission Match Becky Lynch vs Natalya

Becky Lynch, The Man, The Girlfriend of Seth Rollins, The Raw Women’s Champion squares off against Natalya, the……friend of Ronda Rousey, in a singles match at SummerSlam. This is a very weird match on the card considering how Becky has had a rocket strapped to her back recently propelling her to the top of WWE squares of at the biggest party of the summer against…. Natalya. I have nothing against Natalya, far from it, she’s been one of the most consistent female wrestlers WWE have for a long time but the storylines she has had don’t exactly put her in the light of being the champ. Farting, welcoming party and being Rouseys pal to me say that Becky will retain. I hope that Natalya gets a decent build to push her again but despite being in Canada and I can’t see Becky losing to…….. Natalya. Becky Lynch to win 1/5

Goldberg vs Dolph Ziggler

Goldberg, one spear, Ziggler flopping like a fish, can’t wait to see the sell. I mean what else can I say? Goldberg to win 1/5

Kevin Owens vs Shane McMahon

If Big O loses this match with the Best in the Woooooooooorld, he will have to leave the WWE. This could go one of two ways. Currently Drew and Elias have nothing to do at SummerSlam so it’s more than likely there will be interference of some sort. McIntyre and Elias could cause enough of a distraction for McMahon to get the heely heel win over Owens or Owens could finally shut Shane McMahon up by hitting him with a KO Stunner (feel free to steal that as the finisher name WWE). We have to hope against hope that Shane McMahon loses here and are predicting Owens to retain and stay in the WWE. Kevin Owens to win 1/4

WWE Championship Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton

This match is so STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! Orton is the reason Kofi never made it to the main event level back in 2009 after Kofi stood up when Orton was setting up for a Punt Kick. Orton made sure Kofi would not get another chance to be at that level for many years before the fan outcry was just too much for WWE to ignore. Now we come full circle with Kofi Kingston as the WWE champion defending his title against Randy Orton. Whoever takes the title off of Kofi will instantly be the biggest heel in the company but do we really want this to be Randy Orton in 2019? My worst fears is that it’ll be Shane McMahon that eventually dethrones Kofi but Orton is a close second. We hope this match is just to forever destroy the memories of Kofi’s first feud with Orton ending the way it did and will see this match end with a Trouble in Paradise from out of nowhere followed with a STUPID! STUPID! Kofi Kingston to win 1/2

Universal Championship Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins has been something of a twat recently with his big bank account and nerdy ass segments. Rollins is supposed to be the man (or the man’s man at the very least). Since Extreme Rules he’s just been a bit of a punching bag for Lesnar, a dumbass on twitter and attempts to make fun of Heyman and Lesnar and it just doesn’t work. Rollins has the potential to be a great face and an even greater heel so how can WWE be getting it so wrong? As much as Rollins has let us down recently I really REALLY don’t want to see Lesnar run away with the title until he can be arsed turning up with it again. Lesnar too can have great matches but just stay away from the title. Have a non-title match with Strowman, Lashley, Wyatt (and most importantly lose to Wyatt) and you can still have an important role in WWE. Or, turn face and destroy Shane McMahon (Pleeeeease beat up Shane McMahon). What was I talking about? Oh yeah, take the title off Lesnar before we start this nonsense again. Seth Rollins to win 11/8

And those are our Summerslam Odds and Predictions. Do you agree? What would you change? Will I finally get the US title match right? Let us know what you think in the comments. As always I’ve been MostlyGary and I’ll see you again on our next Odds and Predictions.
