Before this week’s Extreme Rules pay per view has taken place, we have already heard lots of rumours and speculation as to what could happen at SummerSlam. In particular there is a lot of discussion as to the status of Brock Lesnar.

Some rumours have discussed Lesnar Challenging McIntyre for the WWE Championship and others have him not involved in the event at all.

In Dave Meltzers latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the latter of those rumours are correct and that fans will not see Lesnar at SummerSlam next month.

It has been reported that one of the reasons he put over McIntyre so strongly at WrestleMania was because he was not due to come back to a storyline anytime soon.

We have also heard rumours that the reason he has not set any matches is because he did not want to appear for match without any fans which would waste his contractual dates for matches.

We still have a while to go before the second biggest pay per view event within the company, but it looks that the most likely direction is to have Randy Orton face the Scotsman for the title
