It has been a particularly difficult day for the world of wrestling. It was reported that Shad Gaspard, former WWE star was missing after being swept out to sea by a riptide while swimming off the coast of Los Angeles with his 10-year-old son.

It was reported last night that the search for former WWE star Shad Gaspard had been called off, but it is now being reported that this was a false report, and that the search is ongoing.

Gaspard’s son was successfully rescued, but unfortunately the father has not been since. According to witnesses, Gaspard called for his son to be rescued, but was then swept away as he tried to save him, and he has not been seen since.

The LA Fire Department issued the following regarding Shad’s disappearance

Venice; Baywatch (LA County Lifeguards) requested LAFD medical support in their search for two reported missing swimmers. One 10yo male was located, evaluated and did not require transport to the hospital. LA County Lifeguard is leading the continuing search for the 2nd swimmer, reported to be the adult father of the 1st patient. LAFD is on medical standby only
