A few weeks ago, AEW announced Fyter Fest which is going to contain what they describe as pay per view quality cards including all titles being contested. The event is to take place on Dynamite on July 1st and 8th.
In response to this WWE have started counter programming. They have reused an old event and named the next two weeks of NXT as the Great American Bash. Some big matches have been scheduled for the next two Wednesday’s including the headline match of ‘two of the best wrestlers in the world’ Sasha Banks Vs Io Shirai in a non-title match. And a winner takes all match between Keith Lee and Adam Cole
It has now been announced that the USA Network broadcast will have “limited Commercial Interruptions” which will give it a more TakeOver feel and gives viewers less opportunity to switch over to AEW on TNT.
NXT won the ratings war last week over dynamite, having a much larger audience and significantly closing the gap in the demo ratings too. It seems that the Wednesday night war is heating up, with both promotions upping their game it can only be good news for fans.
