It is being reported that Vince McMahon is getting frustrated with empty audiences for weekly shows and pay per views. It seems the WWE Chairman is on the verge of doing something “Wacky” for the upcoming SummerSlam Event.
On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez claimed that Vince does not want to hold another pay per view without having fans in attendance. He wants to do something different, maybe too different?
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp backs this up by reporting that WWE is considering an outdoor location for the company’s second biggest pay per view of the year. Mike Johnson of PWInsider claims that management and creative within the WWE have held discussions about doing SummerSlam on a beach or even aboard a cruise ship.
We did receive confirmation last week that SummerSlam will not be held in its original location of Boston’s TD Garden Arena, but an alternative location is yet to be officially announced. WWE are not only planning the cruise ship or beach for a cinematic match within the pay per view but considering the whole card to go down at one of these obscure locations.
So far, we only have two matches confirmed for SumerSlam 2020, Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits will defend their titles against Angel Garza and Andrade. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre will look to defend his title against Randy Orton.
