It is being reported that WWE are a little bit annoyed by AEW regarding comments that were made about COVID-19 testing at last night’s Fyter Fest event.

During a promo, Taz explained why Jon Moxley vs Brain Cage for the AEW Championship had been postponed. The match will now take place on July 15th instead of the second night of Fyter Fest which is being recorded today and will air net Wednesday July 8th.

Here is what Taz had to say:

“If you decide to get your ass here to work next week, you would get tested again here in AEW, because Jon, as you know, we don’t run a sloppy shop.”

WWE have taken this as a shot against their own failure to test for Coronavirus. Their relaxed attitude over testing staff resulted in an outbreak within the company. To further insinuate that this was a direct shot at WWE, Brian Cage made a gunshot gesture behind his manager Taz to say that shots had indeed been fired.

On today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio Dave Meltzer did not give any details but did mention that WWE were upset at the comments.

The match between Moxley and Cage is now being branded as Fight for the Fallen and will take AEW Dynamite’s place live on Wednesday July 15th.

Jon Moxley’s wife Renee Young is one of many within WWE that tested positive for the deadly virus. Despite being cleared by AEW to travel, Moxley does not want to take the risk even though he has tested negative twice.
